At noon on Wednesday, Feb. 25, the Allegheny Gators, which include former Sherwood High School standout Liam Irving, earned a 14-1 NCAA Division III baseball win over the Fredonia Blue Devils.
The contest was held at Robert M. Garbark ’32 Field, marking the team’s initial meeting with Fredonia for the season.
Irving went 3-for-4 at the plate, scored twice, drove in one run, drew two walks and struck out once.
The Gators are set to face Fredonia Blue Devils again later Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m., also at Robert M. Garbark ’32 Field.
