City of Rockville issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.
The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center is gearing up for its annual August spruce up.
- Indoor facilities will be temporarily closed for cleaning and repairs during August and the start of September.
The North Pool and whirlpool will be closed Aug. 11-26, reopening Aug. 27. Improvements will include re-grouting for the whirlpool and repaired patches of white coat in North Pool.
- Indoor locker rooms will be closed Aug. 25-Sept. 3, reopening Sept. 4. Staff will replace broken tiles, replace shower stems, touch up paint and deep clean the locker rooms.
- The South Pool and fitness wing will be closed Aug. 27-Sept. 3, reopening Sept. 4. Both areas will receive a deep cleaning and touchup paint throughout.
- The front desk and lobby will not be accessible from Aug. 27-31, and will reopen on Sept. 1 to process registrations and memberships.
