City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on July 3.
On July 2, 2018, the City of Gaithersburg joined in the national celebration of Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), with the issuing of an official Mayor and City Council proclamation. This year’s theme, “A Lifetime of Discovery,” challenges children and adults to explore the “undiscovered” roles of local parks and recreation. To celebrate, the City is offering a variety of unique programs and open houses throughout the month of July.
“Issuing this proclamation will remind Gaithersburg residents of the importance of our Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture’s facilities and programs,” said Director Michele Potter. “We hope to encourage all to discover a new experience while on their own lifetime of discovery.”
